Muktinath temple lies in the district of Mustang, Nepal. It is a pilgrimage place for both Buddhist and Hindu. It is situated 48 km north east of Jomsom at an altitude of 3749 meter. Its main shrine is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to lord Vishnu. Behind the temple there are 108 waterspouts cast in the shape of cow headed pour holy water. Here lots of pilgrimage takes bath from the ice-cold holy water.

The temple is situated on a high mountain range. During the festival of Janai Purnima, Hindu devotees gather here to pay homage to lord Muktinath. Another famous temple of Jwaladevi, the goddess of flame, is situated about hundred meters south of Muktinath. The eternal flame that has been burning inside the temple continuously since time immemorial and this temple draws both Hindus and Buddhists pilgrims alike. Black amniotes fossils, thought as the embodiment of Lord Vishnu is found in plenty in the area and pilgrims travel long distances over rugged trails to collect these.

In this Overland tour we drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara via Tribhuvan highway and Mahandra highway on the bank of Trisuli as well as Marsyangdi river. Kathamndu to Pokhara is 210 kilometers drive in a paved road. From Pokhara Muktinath Temple is 130 kilometeters drive. From Pokhara we change our vehicle and drive to Muktinath passing through different villages such as Beni, Tatopani, Ghasa, Kalopani, Marpha, Jomsom and all way way to Muktinath. From Beni to Muktinath it is complete offroad driving. Those who love adventure can take a private jeep safari package while those who travel in a limited budget can travel by a local bus or jeep as per availability.

 A pagoda style Muktinath Temple with many other temples and Gompas: In Muktinath pilgrim could visit the beautiful pagoda style temple known as Muktinath temple and belongs with the god Bishnu. God Bishnu Liberated from here with his meditation. So people started to say Muktinath kheshtra or salvation region. This is very important religious spot for the both Hindu and Buddhist people and we can get there many monasteries too.
 108 Water Spouts: There are 108 spouts with continue running water.108 is the best number for all Hindu and Buddhist. There are many gods and goddess with their different incarnation and representation. So people build 108 spouts on the name of the 108 important deities.
 Dhola Mebar Gompa with eternal burning natural flame, known as goddess Jwala Mai: Just few minute walk from Muktinath temple there are many eternal burning flames are said to be goddess Jwala Mai.
 Shaligrams: Shaligram is considered to be the representation of the lord Bishnu and we can get them in Kaligandaki River.

Day 1
Drive Kathmandu – Pokhara - Beni

Wake up in the morning have breakfast and drive to Pokhara. Kathmandu to Pokhara is around 210 kilometers. After reaching Pokhara, drive to Beni which is 85 kilometers from Pokhara. Upon reaching Beni check in at Hotel. Free and relax in the evening.

Day 2
Drive Beni - Muktinath

Wake up early in the morning and have a breakfast. Drive to Jomsom passing through a village such as Tatopani, Ghasa, Kalopani, Marpha. Beni to Jomsom is around 96 kilometers. Upon reaching Jomsom, drive to Muktinath. Jomsom to Muktinath is around 19 kilometers drive. Upon reaching Muktinath, check-in at Hotel. Free and relax in the evening. Overnight at Muktinath.

Day 3
Drive Muktinath - Beni

Wake up early in the morning. Visit Muktinath Temple, worship lord Muktinath and also can take a holy bath at 108 taps. Drive to Beni. Upon reaching Beni check in at Hotel. Free and relax in the evening.

Day 4
Drive Beni - Pokhara

Wake up early in the morning. Take breakfast. Drive to Pokhara. Upon reaching at Pokhara, we have sightseeing program. The major sightseeing point includes Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Taal Barahi Temple, Bindabashini Temple and Devis Fall. After sightseeing, check-in at Hotel. Free and relax. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 5
Drive Pokhara - Kathmandu

Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and drive back Pokhara to Kathmandu following the same highway route.
